Job Classification :  Laser Operator/Machine Operator 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Identifies and communicates problems to supervisor (machine/fixtures/products).
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Operate Laser and Amada Turret Punch.
  • Read Engineering Prints.
  • Perform visual inspections.
  • Use calipers and tape measure, to ensure parts are to print.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Shows initiative- ability to begin job with little supervision.
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Identifies and communicates problems to supervisor (machine/fixtures/products).
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. 
  • Operate Punch Press, Break Press, or Shear.
  • Willing to move from work station to work station.
  • Identify different material types and thicknesses.

 Requirements:

 

  • Wages commensurate with experience.
  • Proven track record of success and stability (1 to 3 years)
  • 1 year Laser operator experience required (preferably Trumpf Laser.)

Job Classification: Aluminum and Steel Welders Aluminum (mig)

Job Description


Position requires 1 to 2 years experience (see requirement section below) and ability to pass welding test (mig). Must produce quality welds, but do not have to qualify for state certification. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must have good work ethic and be team oriented. Produce an acceptable level of quality finished products. Manual dexterity a must.

Essential job function requires the ability to:

 

  • Lift up to 60 pounds
  • Stand for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks
  • Stoop, twist, bend and work overhead
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature
  • Extensive use with power/hand tools
  • Perform visual inspections
  • Follow safety procedures and recognize safety hazards/cleanliness
  • Be able to work in team environment, as well as carrying out tasks asked by supervisor
  • Weld and/or tack metal parts together using mig welding machine
  • Ability to set amps, voltage and wire speed to make quality welds
  • Use hand grinder to grind excess weld, slag or spatter
  • Recognize layouts, blueprints, and/or work orders in preparation or welding. Having the ability to learn and understand how to read them
  • Ability to follow direction of supervision
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures

Requirements:

 

  • At least one year of experience; we have allowed training (classroom) certification to count for experience
  • Education: high school diploma or GED.

Job Classification: Design Engineer

Job Description

National Cart Company is a premier manufacturer and distributor of material handling equipment. We are currently seeking a  design engineer for our St. Charles, Mo location. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits package, and growth potential in a fast paced progressive environment.   Initial job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Perform developmental work in design for new and existing products.  Prepare design drawings, estimates of developmental cost and estimates of standard manufacturing cost.  Work from samples and/or broad requirements either from verbal or written instructions. Consult with sales or customer service to discuss product requirements and specifications when design or manufacturing problems are involved.  Must be able to take a concept and create working drawings suitable for customer approvals and then create a complete set of drawings and Bills of Material for manufacturing including accurate labor costs.  Help coordinate and supervise the building of prototypes and make appropriate changes or alterations to facilitate production.

Assist in developing/maintaining the engineering SOP’s, and follow design rules for all phases of product development from prototype through production. 

Support all manufacturing departments on engineering requests. Work in product development team to include sales, manufacturing and associates.

Give instructions and supervision on new products until manufacturing produces consistently to expectations.

Check the accuracy of drawings and tolerances from the CAD designer on these projects.

Educational/Work Requirements
Successful candidate will require the minimum of bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering with 2-5 years light metal manufacturing experience as related to the job description is a plus however, not mandatory. Lean Enterprise training is a plus. The commitment to learning and implementing Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma is mandatory. Candidate must possess outstanding mechanical aptitude skills. The position requires quick thinking, planning, execution and follow up.

 

Job Classification: Product Catagory Manager

Job Description

Manage manufacturing department providing finished products within a specified category. Establish and maintain effective departmental programs in areas of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, productivity, cost-control and production operations.   Maintain a safe work environment for associates in department for compliance with OSHA, company and other necessary rules and regulations.  Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and production sequence to meet production goals and customer requirements.  Determine labor and equipment requirements and coordinate with other departments to attain efficient operations and shipping schedule. Ensure department meets 5-S requirements by maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment, tooling, department, paperwork and files.  Lead lean initiatives to continuously improve operations .Conduct performance evaluations, set associate goals and recommend pay adjustments accordingly.  Ensure that production rates are being met, and implement corrective actions for deficiencies.  Teach, train and assist department associates in all job requirements.  Coordinate operations with other departments to ensure that team success.  Ensure all required documentation is properly completed.  Ensure equipment, tooling and processes are safe and productive to ensure quality and ergonomically -correct manufacturing of parts and assemblies. Monitor operations to ensure quality and efficiency.  This position supports all shifts.
